I tuned in to the Monday night Club yesterday evening to see if my latest email would get a mention. I felt that if the player/pundit Andros Townsend was on the show, then I had a chance. It was Townsend who had disagreed with my email of April 20 which made the point that Arsenal were still very much in the title race despite having lost the previous day to Manchester City. He felt that Arsenal had blown it. The morning after Arsenal won the title I sent in an email wondering what Andros thought about things now. When he was announced as a guest on the show last night, I was very optimistic that I might become a little famous again when it came time to discuss Arsenal. Alas, it was not to be. The presenter Mark Chapman asked Townsend a gentle question about Arsenal, seemingly leaving it up to him as to whether he referred back to his comments on April 20. It was the right way to handle the situation. Townsend responded to the question he was asked and did not mention his previous remarks, There was to be no second glimpse of fame.

At least not for now.
