Sunday evening just gone My Good Self was chatting with The Belgian Boy on the blower.
I was telling him that I felt I had run out of ‘scribbling steam’.
I was convinced of it.
So what do I know?
It would appear that my knowledge of my own mind runs in very close proximity to my knowledge of women.
Nothing more needs to be said.
Except perhaps a word of thanks to my loyal and devoted fan club for their kind words over the past two days. In particular I am thinking of The Guinness Pensioner, The Non Stop Woman, The Greek Goddess, The King of Headfort, The Cruising Queen, The Prince of Pinner, Vidal of Portobello, My Clarinet and Harmonica Mate, The Saving The World Babe, The Skiing Chess Dude, not forgetting The Paper Pen Lady.
I thank you all.
The gesture of support from The Prince of Pinner was a somewhat cryptic one.
But then again, he’s a cryptic kind of guy.
And so here I am again, scribbling away.
The first half of yesterday was a somewhat standard affair. Music practice, radio, lunch and a listen to a John Legend cd.
The nosh was a most appetising beef cannelloni courtesy of my good friends in Marks & Sparks, washed down by an equally pleasant glass of Santa Helena merlot, courtesy of my local Spar.
My Good Self and the Santa Helena merlot are on very good terms.
There was also a viewing of an old episode of ‘Cheers’, one of my two all time favourite tv series.
Norm, you the man.
Main event of the evening was a hook up with The Monaghan Mushroom.
The Elephant & Castle in Temple Bar is our regular haunt.
It’s a popular place.
After a few minutes of loitering with intent a table became free and we were duly sorted.
All was well with The Monaghan Mushroom and most of his crew.
It seems the Junior Princess of Monaghan is a little below par of late.
Grub devoured and washed down, it was a short but chilly wander back to My Official Residence.
On arrival, My Good Self heard the call of the hay.
It had been a good day.
