Doing OK
384. Add in the 50 complementary seats and we are at 434. This week I got chatting to the box office manager Ashling. She felt we were doing OK. That is good enough for me.

A good sales week
346. We sold 55 this week, over twice what we sold the previous week. Add in the complementary tickets and we are close to 400, not far short of one third full We are getting there.

Sounding good
We had our first rehearsal yesterday. There was a very good turn out with just a couple of people missing for good reasons. The choir sounded fantastic. The rest of the gang were equally as good Things are shaping up.

More numbers
291. Add in the 50 complementary seats already allocated to Fighting Blindness and we are at 341. 309 is the quarter full mark, so we have less than 900 to do in five weeks. My idea is to get close to 600 allocated seats with 10 days to go and then look for Radio time…

A world record
Our busking season came to an end yesterday. We are very much a summertime, fair weather busking group. There were four of us there yesterday and although only two played we had our best financial return ever, over €40 to go along with a sterling £10 note. A world record.

Above and beyond
Hobo Paddy is something of a musical right hand man for me. We do Clearbrook Nursing Home together and he is always therefore the Nearys gigs. Yesterday he bought 20 tickets for the NCH gig. Above and beyond the call of duty.

Our first plug
My good friend Helen called me earlier today to tell me she was due to go on the radio show Liveline and that she would try to get a plug-in for the concert. She succeeded Fairplay Helen.

Hand to hand combat
I was chatting with my friend Gerry yesterday evening. He reminded me of the military analogy that I had started some weeks ago. It was only after I hung up the phone to him that I realised we are now engaged in a form of hand to hand combat when it comes to selling seats.…
