Life update

Yesterday four weeks ago we were in the NCH. There are times when it seems a little unreal. Did it really happen? Thankfully there is video evidence to prove that it did. It was the best night of my life. To be on stage with so many friends and to have more friends and family in the audience of the most prestigious performing arena in the country was extremely special. Thanks again to everybody who supported us. With a little luck we will make it back there next year.

On the musical learning side of things, I continue to play five instruments. My classical guitar gets most of the attention as usual. I have 30 pieces in my repertoire, however only five are at full speed. All going well, I should have 29 of the 30 up to full speed in a year or so. The ultimate benchmark piece remains ‘Recurdos de La Alhambra’. I am currently at 45% with that one so it will be a few years before I fully get to grips with it. There is no hurry. Musicql learning is a labour of love.

On a personal level things are as good as they can be with my two brothers. Paul was at the NCH. We shook hands at the interval and exchanged a few polite words. He seemed a little surprised that his little brother was the central figure of the show. It was David’s birthday a few weeks ago. I sent him a text message, he replied and I replied back. This is the best that things have been between the three of us for several years.

As for my eyesight, I can still see.

I’m a lucky guy.
