Every now and then something happens when I’m busking that tugs at the heart strings.
So there I was, plucking away on a beautiful South King Street afternoon. Near the end of my set a couple of Spanish sounding young ladies sat down on my bench and started happily chatting away to one another. When I decided to call it quits a short time later I looked down at my guitar case and concluded that today would be a ‘blank day’. As I unplugged my guitar one of the Spanish sounding chatters appeared opposite me and said as follows; ‘This is for you’. She handed me a five euro note. I thanked her very much. And as I got up to make my way around to The Great Institution I repeated my gratitude to her.
‘You’re welcome’ , was her reply.
