I believe in the concept of social equality. The idea that we are all the same. Of course we are not all the same and never will be. There will always be the haves and the have nots. Probably because we are all only human after all. And to be human means that we are capable of both wonderful and terrible things.

Be all that as it may if we do not strive towards a more equal existence then the whole gig becomes even more lopsided. That just the way it goes. Nothing ever stays the same.

Lately I’ve been reflecting on these matters with an eye to those of us who are sometimes marginalised a little by society at large. I speak of those who are a wee bit different and also those of a certain vintage. I feel it’s time for these individuals to move more towards the centre stage.

It’s always a bit more interesting in the middle of the action.
