So there I was, belting out my unique take on Bach’s ‘Jesu, joy of man’s desiring’, when I heard the word ‘thanks’ being uttered in my direction. Immediately I responded with a very sincere ‘thank you’, and when I looked down at my guitar case after finishing the piece there were several coins on it. 3 euro and 55 cents to be precise. I was rich.

Shortly afterwards The Lady Yank stopped by for a chat and she was kind enough to donate a tenner to my wine guzzling cause. We chatted for a bit and after she had departed the scene I played ‘Cavatina’. At the end of that particular tune I looked down and there were more coins on my case. Another 2 euro and 55 cents.

All of a sudden I had earned a world record amount of 16 euro and 10 cents, bringing me to a running total of 29 euro and 95 cents.
