Hakuna Matata

There are no losers in the Olympic Games. Anyone who makes it there has risen to the top of their chosen sport, so hats off to them.

The interviews with the participants are often emotional affairs, with stories of dedication and devotion aplenty. The Irish boxer Kellie Harrington spoke to RTE in the wake of her semi final win earlier today and she came across quite simply as a beautiful person who has admirable life values. When the chat moved to her upcoming final bout she uttered the phrase ‘Hakuna Matata’, which is the title of a song from ‘The Lion King’ movie and means ‘no worries’ or ‘no problems’. Ms. Harrington is someone we can be proud of and she is a true blue Dub to boot.

She fights for gold this Sunday morning at 6 am.

A nation holds its breath.
