For anyone who has issues with lack of sleep I think I may have found a solution for you. A few nights in Enniscrone coupled with some evening time beach walks could be just the gig you’re looking for. There’s something about clean, Atlantic air that goes well with dozing and dreaming. At least it does the trick for me.
And so it came to pass that it was well after 10 bells of a Sunday morning before I ventured downstairs to the breakfast area of the Kitchen Sink Hotel for a bit of nosh with my two fellow residents. Soon after we were on the move for a wee wander down to the harbour and the surrounding area accompanied by Maggie, our four legged friend. The paddle board people were out doing their thing and we were not the only strollers around. Enniscrone is a busy spot at this time of year. After a brief return visit to the hotel it was then time to check out one of the main town attractions, the Seaweed Bath House. On the go since 1912 a seaweed bath is a great man for easing away aches and pains. All the rooms have individual sit in steam cupboards to open up the pores and long hot seaweed filled baths in which to relax. A refreshing, slowly taken, cold sea water shower closes out the experience.
A short time later our group expanded to six with the arrival of The Hotel Queen along with the Prince and Princess of Glenageary.
It was good to see them again.
Dinner took place soon after in a well covered outdoor area of the Ait Eile restaurant and a very fine dinner it proved to be. A few late evening drinks in McNultys pub rounded off a very pleasant day.
It was all good.
