A friendly chat

So there I was, cruising along the southern stretch of the Park, heading down towards Chapelizod Gate, when it struck me that a wee siesta in the sun might well be no bad thing,

And so it came to pass that I plonked down for a while on my favourite Park seat, overlooking Conyngham Road and the Liffey. Now there are many resting spots in the Park however this one particular seat just happens to be.the chosen one for me. Amongst a group of four or five, it is the highest vantage point on a small hill to observe the world below go by.

And then I noticed I had company. The Marathon Man, who I had never met before, was holding court on a nearby seat. As ever the weather was the ice breaker. ‘Beautiful day’, I ventured forth and my new friend agreed. The chat meandered on around many subjects from marathons to mazes, from bank cards to cash, and when the talk lulled and silence began to fill the air, I upped sticks and we bade farewell to one another.

It’s good to talk.
