So there I was, dreamily wandering along O’Connell Street, passing close to the Savoy Cinema when a blast from the past made himself known to me.
The Man With The Distinctive Voice (TMWTDV), it was good to see him again.
TMWTDV is someone who came under my wing in the days of yore when I earned a crust with homeless people. Most of the gentlemen and ladies in that particular life category have now moved on to a more peaceful place, but a few still remain and it is always a delight to cross paths and exchange a few pleasantries with them.
Meanwhile over in the sporting world, Scotland scored a deserved late win last night over France whilst provincial rugby takes centre stage this evening as old rivals Leinster and Munster square up to one another in the Pro14 final. Leinster are favourites however the men from the South will not be a pushover by any means. I have advised Leinster head coach Leo Cullen that I am ready and willing if he sees fit to give me a shout. I can do more.
And across in the land of the beautiful game, The Boys In Green take on Luxembourg. New manager Stephen Kenny has been sailing in some choppy seas since he took charge of the Irish crew, however this upcoming encounter offers the opportunity of more tranquil waters.
And so this is how the M&S Cranberry and Orange cookie is crumbling this Saturday March morning.
A bientot mes amis.
