Trouble in Paradise

All is not well on the streets of Dublin.

Saturday afternoon saw an anti-lockdown protest, resulting in many arrests.

Only that The Boys In Green needed my support I would have been out there right in the thick of it.

On second thoughts, maybe not.

Things to do.

And so, over in the Eternal City, The Boys In Green took care of The Pizza Pasta Lads without too much bother.

I just hope them Italians are getting well paid for their endeavours.

At least they have all that grub, wine and gelato to keep them afloat.

The real match of the weekend took place in Cardiff on Saturday where unbeaten Wales took on mighty England.

Some strange refereeing decisions along with a few bits of English indiscipline saw the Welsh emerge as victors.

Vive Les Leeks.

And lo and behold The Boys From Anfield managed to scramble a win.

Nothings gonna stop them now.

Next up is Chelsea on Thursday. I’ve been on the blower to Jurgen. He has assured me that the whole gig is now fully sorted and that my services will not be required. I have told him that I will remain on standby in full training just in case.

As such a strict diet of Sancerre, sausage rolls and pizza will thus be observed for the foreseeable future.

I can do more.

Over in the world of chess my rating has crept back up to 1457, although The Diligent Drumcondra Man has stolen an early edge in our latest battle. It’s early days with The King of Headfort and Uncle Sam, looking good with The Italian Babe and getting a wee bit interesting with The Prince of Pinner.

There’s no end to the excitement.

A bientot mes amis.

  1. Hard to say as an Irishman but I thought the ref was harsh on England. – anyways everything crossed this time next year we will be fixing metal and plastic planks to our boots, sliding down some slopes, punctuated with a break for a hot chocolate or other libation!
