My life.
And it’s a good life. I am very much aware of how fortunate I am, given current events.
Overcast and mild was the order of the day in the Phoenix Park this afternoon, with a smattering of bodies floating around.
Stepping inside the main gates of the Park is akin to being transported into a different world.
A small amount of traffic, no traffic lights, pedestrian routes all the way around, with occasional greetings exchanged between strangers.
It really is one of Dublins Gems, possibly it’s finest.
A number 66A bus took me back up the quays, followed by a visit to My Local Spar.
The absolute essentials were duly purchased – the Santa Helena Merlot, the Pringles Sour cream and onion crisps, the Haagen Dazs ice cream, along with some other stuff, wholemeal bread, milk and the like.
Over in the world of football, The Boys From Anfield are struggling, the Red Devil’s (Manchester United) are resurgent and The Sky Blues (Manchester City) are looking ominously good.
The Six Nations rugby will soon be here and the English cricketers will shortly be squaring up to the mighty India.
Sport is a great distraction for many, My Good Self included.
In the land of chess, victories over The Diligent Drumcondra Man and The Italian Babe have seen my rating rise to 1417.
The Promised Land of the 1500’s seems a faraway dream.
Consolidation continues to be the way of things with the classical guitar.
