Dancing in the dark

I was on the blower to The Multi Instrumentalist the other day.

I was telling him that the old spherical objects were just not performing as well as they used to.

Things were getting a wee bit darker.

A wee bit more often.

He was familiar with this type of gig and reminded My Good Self that it was time to start preparing.

As a certain cantankerous Corkman has been known to remark; Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

And so I am starting to use the voiceover and dictate functions on my phone a little more of late. Walking routes are getting more attention. Lights do not get switched on as often as they used to.

I’m saving a fortune on my electricity bill.

I have no control over whether or not I go blind.

However I do have control over my attitude towards it.

  1. I believe the corkman was quoting someone else (was it Benjamin Franklin!)
So on the subject of quotes, to quote Anotine de saint-exupery “What is essential is invisible to the eye”…

  2. Sometimes we need someone to state what has to be done.
