Coping with science

Scientific evidence and research has stood the test of time.

In years gone by religion opposed it and lost. These days social media seems to be the new religion.

Of course science will win again, it’s just a question of how long it will take.

A safe vaccine for COVID-19 will take time. It will take a good deal longer to get that vaccine to every corner of planet earth, and longer again to convince the entire world population to take the vaccine.

As Melinda Gates recently said, if COVID-19 is anywhere, it’s everywhere.

All of which means, to me anyway, that we all need to get used to the idea of ‘living with the virus’.

What that actually translates to in everyday life is anybody’s guess.

At this point in proceedings I would just like to say that I am not all bothered by the closure of The Great Institution of Chatham Street.

Only 16 days, 20 hours, 34 minutes and 22.75 seconds to go before it reopens.

But hey, who’s counting?
