Ireland survived the Famine.
The world got through the Spanish Flu.
So there is no doubt but that our topsy turvy little planet will make its way through COVID-19, albeit with much loss.
So the question now starting to be asked is;
What kind of world will emerge post COVID-19?
Will we all just go on as before or will we make a few adjustments to our lives?
My Good Self is planning to tweak a few things here and there.
One of the lessons being learned from current events is the importance of community, that of people looking out for one another in the area where they live. I will be doing a little more for my locality.
Another lesson is that travel, for the most part, is really not that vital.
On a more worldwide scale, something called Universal Basic Income (UBI) is starting to get some airtime. UBI means everyone in the world gets a few bob in their pockets. It sounds too good to be true but at least it is being talked about.
Many people in India, for example, exist on daily wages, something that will mean a heavy price is paid for COVID-19. UBI would mean a great deal to a country like India.
I believe in a better world.
I’m hoping it will come to pass
