It had been a while since My Good Self had done the Sunday morning stroll in the city.
I had been happily plucking away at Bagatelle No. 2 yesterday morning when the urge came upon me.
The time had come.
It was time for a stroll.
The Millennium footbridge is my favourite city crossing point for the view it provides up and down the wee stream that constitutes the River Liffey.
It was cold and windy as I wandered on through a predictably quiet Temple Bar.
South Great George’s Street was slowly kicking into action, Exchequer and Wicklow Streets less so.
Grafton Street was beautifully free of crowds.
There were a few bodies floating around Stephens Green.
No surprise for the jewel in the crown.
Lunch was a hook up with The Kilkenny Lady in My Local Michelin Star Cafe.
Batman and Robin were on hand to look after us.
A most pleasing chilli con carne was washed down by an equally pleasant glass of the house white plonk.
It was all good.
Back at The Ranch, the Manchester derby was on the radio. Strangely I found myself supporting The Red Devil’s (Manchester United) given that Manchester City are the closest rivals to The Boys From Anfield.
The men in red emerged victorious 2-0.
Good old United.
The remainder of my day consisted of a few catch ups, Netflix and Match of the Day 2.
Come eleven bells I heard the call of the hay.
I responded to that call.
