It had been a lovely few days hanging out with the Queen of Scotland.
Often when My Good Self has a nice break in good company there is a period of readjustment to normality on returning to My Official Residence.
And so it proved yesterday.
I live alone. I have done so for many years now.
Living alone has its pros and cons.
Yes, I have great freedom to do as I choose. The flip side of that particular coin is the absence of a loving relationship in my life.
My Good Self and love have not often sung from the same hymn sheet.
And so it was a quiet morning and afternoon. Some music, some radio, some rest.
Evening time saw The Dunboyne Dynamo drop around briefly. He was delivering a present of some bed linen from The Kilkenny Lady.
It was a wild and windy night. A night for the indoors. Guitar practice, a listen to the Manchester derby, a bit of online chess, some scribbling, an episode of ‘The Crown’, a glass of wine and a few cream crackers filled the remaining hours.
And then the hay beckoned.
It had been a quiet day.
