Yesterday was Saturday, October 19.
Wednesday saw My Good Self return to the seafront in Clontarf courtesy of the 130 bus from Abbey Street.
Dublin Bus drivers are The Saints of The Fabulous Fair City (Dublin). Dealing with money, handling occasionally very tricky on-board situations, negotiating their way through the often Devilish Dublin traffic, they are a multi-talented motley crew of young fellas and young ones.
Descending the 130 at Alfie Byrne Road, I hit the pedestrian crossing, wander on a few yards and hey presto, I have arrived at my starting point.
I am ready to Rock And Stroll Along The Clontarf Coastline.
Tuning in to The Great British Broadcasting Corporation as I amble along, I opt to catch up on a little Desert Island Discs.
Desert Island Discs has been on the go now since 1942. Guests talk about their lives, and choose eight tracks, a book and a luxury to take with them to a desert island. Lauren Laverne is the current presenter who recently took over from KirstyYoung. Lauren is good, Kirsty was great.
The day turned out to be a very good Strolling Day for My Good Self (MGS) as I made it all the way to Sutton.
Thursday saw MGS back at Drama School with My Smashing Barriers Mates. We have some theatre performances of our literary masterpiece ‘Dead or Alive’ looming on the horizon. The Gang were hard at rehearsal.
Friday saw MGS wander out to the suburbs to catch up with The Kilkenny Lady. We did a little bit of grocery shopping and downed A Little Bit Of Sustinance before I duly caught the Four Wheeled Friend (bus) back into town.
Later, whilst relaxing in My Official Residence, I received a Short Electronic Missal (text message) from My Good Friend, The Diligent Drumcondra Man (TDDM). He was wondering whether or not I would be frequenting The Great Institution of Chatham Street later that evening.
Is the Pope a catholic? Does a bear stroll in the woods? I duly met with TDDM for a few drops of The Local Life Enhancing Liquid of Chatham Street. We put the world to rights and all was well.
Yesterday I was back in swing with The Harp Dude (my harmonica teacher).
I have been playing harmonica for around two years now and I find myself more impressed with it as I go along. It really is a very clever and versatile musical instrument.
It forms a vital part of my Musical Quartet.
The One Man Orchestra Of Grafton Street grows closer by the day.
